1. By direction of the President and under the provisions of War

Department Circular No. 345, dated 23 August 1944, a Meritorious Service

Unit Plaque is awarded by the Commanding General, Headquarters Island Command,

APO 709, to the following named units for superior performance of duty, and

the achievement and maintenance of a high standard of professional and mili-

tary proficiency:
