Dear Klick:
I think you should report to your nearest Medical Officer and have your eyes examined. That last letter to me had a pretty bad margin: in fact, it was oblique.
The war in Europe seems to be progressing very well now, but the report from the South Pacific doesn't sound so good. Would you like to hear it; it just came over the radio. I quote: "It has been officially announced that the Japs have taken Sal Hepatica. The United States admits this, but doubts their ability to hold it. It states that the strain on the rear has been tremendous, and the US has caught them on the run several times trying to evacuate along the line. There have been several flank movements but so far, only gas attacks have been reported. The Japs have tried to suppress these reports, but it leaked out, and the Allies have gotten wind of it. By now, the Japs fully realize the value of a scrap of paper." Unquote. - The Fourth of July was very dull in Washington. I just went to the show. Well that's all for now.
