Dear Roman:
I just noticed on your last letter that you are now a Sgt. When did this happen? It must have been recently as I did not notice it on your other letters. Since I last wrote you nothing has happened that's exciting. I have not even played a game of chess. I am writing this letter at work and there are 2 screwy girls here and they wanted to know to who I was writing to, so I told them a Wac, so now they want to call up my wife and tell her. Maybe I can get one of them to write to you. She's not bad looking, about 20 yrs old.
Starting August 7 I go on my vacation and I can hardly wait as I have not had one for 2 years. I have planned to go to Wisconsin for a week, and maybe will stay 2 weeks.
I have not had any news from Rathborne lately but I suppose you know what's going on around there better than I do.
