TO BE FILED: AUNT-AUNT'S LETTER DATED (oops --- undated)
Howdy Birthday Boy:
Here's hoping on next July 24th we shall all of us raise our coffee cups to the birthday chap across the table and sing happy birthday to you. I am "at home" again in Cicero for a vacation beginning this time. I have three weeks off (that I so dearly earned) and I just can't seem to get used to not having to jump up out of bed at seven in the morning. Of course, this time I can't enjoy Aunty Clara's potatoes with her delicious tlusit (gravy) on them. I have to confine myself to eating grass as I call it of all kinds. But it's a treat to be here with her, as always, listening to her read some of your letters, and laughing with her at the sometimes sarcastic humor of them. Did you see the pictures "The Purple Heart?", "Passage to Marseilles", "In Our Time" & "The Song of Russia"? To me those are four good pictures that I am glad I didn't miss and if you can see them don't miss them. Let me or Aunty Clara know if soon in Sept, when I hope we send the boys things without requests you would like some peanuts. Well, I guess I'll have to sign off for this time.
Lots of luck and love.
