My Birthday
Monday
Guadalcanal

Hi there, Mrs Boyer,

You hit it right on the nose --- or at least practically on the nose for I received that very nice and rather unusual card in yesterday's mail just thirteen hours before my birthday. Thanks very much for remembering me like that and those back page notes which you add to all your cards are almost like your trade mark and I look forward to them every time I see a card from you.

With the war going along as smoothly as it has been for the last month or so, maybe it won't be so very long before we can stop saying "hope to see you soon, etcetera" and will actually be back in old Chicago once again. Miracles can happen and Christmas 1945 could possibly see the end of it all.

You didn't mention Bob. Is he still in Washington? I haven't heard from him yet?

Good luck to you and Muriel and may you both enjoy the best of health and happiness.

So-long,

Ro
