Dear Aunty Clara,
4:30 Saturday
For some reason or another I just want to hand write another letter. My fever is completely gone now and I am feeling quite well. That heat in the head has more to do with making a person feel lousy than anything else. There were several things of interest which I wanted to mention about yesterday but I can't recall them at this time. For one thing, that just goes to show that only by writing everyday can letters have a lot to say. When a day or two is skipped, the trivial items are either forgotten or they don't seem worth the trouble of mentioning. Yet it is the trivial things like that which make a day of life. Big eventful things just happen once in a while.
I do not believe I mentioned getting mail this morning. I did - four of them. One was a V-mail from Harvey Beaumont which was a stenciled drawing of a funny cartoon. Another was from Bob Hesser and the other two were from you dated June 30th & July 1st. That is rather good service, isn't it? Just think it was only Sunday (my time) that you wrote the letter and it arrived Saturday morning (my time).
