Dear Aunty Clara,

Sunday

Here is a little post script which I forgot to tell you about during the course of writing the other two letters.

Sitting down in the mess hall this afternoon across from a Chicago fellow and another fellow from Berwyn, we got to talking about the Melody Mill Ballroom. Well, those two fellows practically lived in that place.

Fricke is an older fellow and is the one that used to work in the box department at Armour's and is very familiar with the products of one Rathborne, Hair and Ridgway Company since that is where Armour's got their boxes from as you well know. I believe that in the past, I have mentioned this fellow to you.

Anyway, Fricke remembers the Mill very well in the old days before Ben Lejcar owned it and it didn't have such a very good reputation. He went with an older set and doesn't know many of the kids I know.

With Vincent Cristallo (nicknamed Jimmy) it is a different story. I don't think I told you about him the day he came in the office and I found out he lived in Berwyn. He never went to Morton or any high school for that matter but he has lived around Ogden and Harlem for fourteen years.

But the climax came today when he and I talked about the mill. (1) He knows Ben Lejcar Sr --- Bennie's Dad. (2) He knows Bennie. (3) He knows Bennie's brothers Clarence and Jimmy and (4) the best of all He knows Dolores and knew her even before Bennie did: He met her at a street dance in Berwyn when the 6300 block of stores on 22nd St opened up. Can you beat that? He saw her in January and says that she has changed a lot since she has been married and says that she was always a quiet (:) type. He did not know that she had a baby.

What a world, eh?

So-long,
/s/ Roman
