Dear Mrs Boyer,

Friday

The package arrived today and as you hadn't mentioned just what was in it, it was a pleasant surprise to find the different things in it. Unfortunately, I'm writing this letter some five hours after receiving it and the edible items are pretty well gone by now. Thanks very much, I was glad to get it and glad that you sent it. By the way, that picture of Ramsay Ames which appears on the front page of the Book Section is some pin-up. I'm sure that I'm going to enjoy the book too for what little I've managed to skim thru so far seems to be rather interesting. The fudge in the box was a bit dried out during the fifty day trip but the nuts kept surprisingly well; for as a general rule, unless they are sealed in tin cans, they do not keep their freshness.

There were quite a few things which kept us busy this evening such as a Retreat Formation, a cleaning of the barracks and a Special Service Show at the theater area as it is quite late right now. I wanted to be sure, however, to get off a note to you even if it was only a short one to let you know that I did receive the package and thank you for it.

Just yesterday I received another of those screwball letters from Bob.

P.S. Hi Muriel

So-long, Ro
