24 February 1943
Dear Aunty Clara:
This letter is being written but a few short moments since I sealed the other one.
You will find enclosed in this envelope my Application for Enrollment in Army Institute Course. I am taking up mapping and surveying as a starter and will add the other courses from time to time.
It is necessary that I enclose a remittance of $2.00 which I haven't got; so you can do it for me. It must be a money order made payable to The Treasurer of the United States. Then send the check and the blank to Army Institute, Madison, Wisconsin. O. K.?
I won't write anymore now so that this can go out in the mail which is leaving in a few minutes.
Will you take care of this as soon as you can? Then the lessons will get back to camp while we are still here.
Solong,
/s/ Roman
