                 - CONSTRUCTION OF TIRE REPAIR SHOP.

         

                 - CONSTRUCTION OF PAITA PRISONER OF WAR STOCKADE.



             22ND - MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF PAITA ROAD NETWORK.

         

             ON THE 15TH THE OPERATION OF KM#26 QUARRY WAS

        TRANSFERRED TO COMPANY "A", 1ST LT WILLIAM G. HANTON,

        COMMANDING.

         

             THF BULLDOZER BASEBALL TEAM WON THEIR 13TH CONSECUTIVE

         GAME ON THE 11TH BY SHUTTING OUT THE 362ND ENGINEERS WITH A

         SCORE OF 10 TO 0.

         

              ON THE 26TH THE FOLLOWING PROMOTIONS WERE ANNOUNCED.

              1ST LT M.C. ALISTAIR M. SMITH TO CAPTAIN, M.C.

         

         AUGUST 1943:

         

              THE 15TH WAS REGIMENTAL DAY, THE 353RD’S 1ST

         ANNIVERSARY. THE ADJUTANT GENERAL WAS NOTIFIED IN LETTER

         DATED 12 AUGUST 1943 PURSUANT TO AUTHORITY CONTAINED IN PAR.

         7, AR 345-105.

         

              IN THE EVENING THOSE THAT WERE NOT ON DUTY GATHERED IN

         THE THEATRE AREA TO HEAR A BRIEF SPEECH BY COLONEL TROWER

         COVERING THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE REGIMENT THROUGH ITS

         INITIAL STAGES OF TRAINING AND OPERATION UP TO THE PRESENT.

         A SPECIAL PROGRAM OF ENTERTAINMENT BY THE BAND FOLLOWED.
